Pop-up Store
The Pop Mart Pop-up Store is a temporary retail installation designed to bring the world of collectible art toys into a tactile and immersive space. Conceived for Milan Design Week 2025, the project translates the characters of Labubu, Skullpanda and Molly into spatial storytelling, playful materials and curated interaction.
The concept began with an analysis of Pop Mart's visual identity, built around surprise, emotional collectibility and immediate recognition. These qualities were translated into mirrored surfaces, modular displays and oversized totems that echo the scale and playfulness of the toys. Within a compact footprint, reflective materials, layered sightlines and character-focused displays created a rhythmic sequence of discovery.
The pop-up was hosted at Otto.place in Via Paolo Sarpi 8, in the heart of Milan's Chinatown, a district shaped by cultural exchange and youth-oriented creative activity. The setting provided a natural context for a brand rooted in East Asian visual culture and urban playfulness.
More than a shop, the installation was conceived as an event-driven experience. The opening combined limited-edition releases, influencer previews, food, drinks and real-time content production. By bringing retail and entertainment together, the project turned a compact temporary space into a memorable brand encounter. The result balances strategic thinking, spatial identity and scenography, showing how physical environments can amplify the emotional appeal of collectible culture.
